NORTH TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WKBW) — Among the many changes coming to DeGraff Hospital this year, part of it is now up for sale.
The five-story main hospital tower on 445 Tremont Street will be re-used as a redevelopment opportunity, per Kaleida Health.
Pyramid Brokerage Company is looking to sell the 85,000-sqaure-foot building in North Tonawanda for for multi-family redevelopment or affordable housing.
This is part of Kaleida's effort to keep the hospital afloat. The challenge has been dealing with changes in health care and population loss in the area, according to Kaleida.
Since 2012, DeGraff hospital has seen, per Kaleida:
- 63% decline in inpatient surgery
- 54% decline in outpatient surgery
- 33% decline in inpatient admissions
