BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Tops Monopoly game has been going on for the past decade, but recently something happened for the very first time.
A winner paid the car they won forward.
Mary Bisson and her husband Terrance were shopping as they normally do when they opened their rip-it-and win ticket and discovered they had won a car.
Mary says after talking it over with her husband, they decided they both had cars they liked and didn’t need another.
But they knew someone who did.
The pair had been volunteering at the Western New York Peace Center since the ‘80s and recently met a new employee there — Silver Light.
Knowing she had been on public transportation for the past decade, they reached out to see if she would be interested.
Today, Light has a check for $25,000 that she plans to spend towards a Nissan Leaf, or other fully electric car.
She says the kind of generosity that the Bisson’s showed her can only be repaid with continuing to be generous to others and to the environment.
