Pedestrian struck near Walnut Avenue in Niagara Falls

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WKBW) — Niagara Falls police say a 62-year-old woman was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle Saturday night.

The crash occurred just before 8 p.m. at the intersection of 10th Street and Walnut Avenue according to police, the 62-year-old woman was walking south on 10th Street using her wheelchair as a walker.

The woman was struck by a vehicle operated by an 81-year-old man from Williamsville as she proceeded through the intersection.

The woman was transported to ECMC to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the driver and the passenger of the vehicle that struck her were uninjured and have been cooperating with the investigation.

No charges have been filed at this time.
