AMHERST, N.Y. (WKBW) — Plans to put a shooting range in Amherst have taken a step forward.

The Amherst Town Board unanimously approved a two-million-dollar bond issue at Tuesday night’s meeting.

The town purchased the former Harley-Davidson on Bailey Avenue back in 2018 for use as a community police and training facility.

The training facility would include the shooting range to be used by officers to practice their shooting and tactical skills.

It would not be open to the general public.
