BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Three civilians and two Buffalo Police officers were injured after a call of gunshots fired led to a police pursuit.
Shortly after 4am Sunday, officers responded to multiple callers reporting "several shots" heard on Sobieski Street, according to Buffalo Police spokesman Michael DeGeorge.
Officers began pursuing a Toyota Venza that was leaving the scene, which ended with the out-of-control Toyota striking a concrete pole and a large tree on Grey Street, and two police cruisers crashing into each other.
Authorities say there were three people from Buffalo inside of the vehicle: a 29-year-old male driver, a 21-year-old female passenger, and a 26-year-old male passenger.
All three were transported by ambulance to ECMC to be treated for multiple injuries.
Two police officers also suffered non-life threatening injuries during the incident when two patrol vehicles collided.
No charges have been filed at this time, according to DeGeorge.
