HAMBURG, N.Y. (WKBW) — The town of Hamburg Police Department worked with other agencies on Tuesday to conduct an investigation related to the cold case of Anjanette Piotrowski.

A Hamburg Police Department Investigator said police received a lead that led them to dig in a wooded area off of Southwestern Boulevard and Big Tree Road on Tuesday morning, but nothing was found.

Piotrowski has been missing since October 17, 1994. She was 21 years old when she was last seen at an auto shop on Miriam Avenue, in Blasdell with Ron Erhardt.

Piotrowski was engaged to Erhardt's son. They broke up shortly after moving from Michigan to Buffalo in the summer of 1994. Piotrowski stayed in Western New York and moved into Erhardt's home.

7 News spoke to investigators in the past who said friends of Piotrowski said she and Erhardt were involved romantically. Erhardt claimed he was a father figure. He became a suspect in this case and admitted he was the last person who saw her.

Unfortunately, Piotrowski still has never been found.
