AMBER Alert for missing two-month-old baby canceled, parents turn themselves in

ORLEANS COUNTY, N.Y. (WKBW) — An AMBER Alert issued for a missing two-month-old baby has been canceled and the child's mother and father have turned themselves into police.

The alert, which was activated at 2:22 p.m., was canceled shortly after 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

New York State Police say the child was recovered safely.

Police said the two-month-old child was taken, along with her car seat, about 8 a.m. from 4287 Manning Road in Holley.

According to the Orleans County Sheriff's Office, the child was found safe with extended family in Auburn and is currently in the care of the Orleans County Child and Family Services.

Police say, as of Thursday afternoon, the child's parents have turned themselves into the police in Newark, New York. According to investigators, the couple previously left the infant at a family member's residence and took off on foot.

The investigation remains ongoing.
