BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) — Niagara Falls police say the are investigating the discovery of a body "burned beyond recognition" Saturday night.
Police and fire crews responded to the area of 5300 Buffalo Avenue, also known as the Hooker docks area, for a report of a vehicle fire just after 9 p.m. Saturday.
Upon arrival the badly burned body was discovered by crews just outside of a vehicle.
Police say it is known who owns the vehicle but they cannot confirm at this time if the body discovered is the same person.
The body will be identified using DNA according to police.
Police ask anyone who saw a black Dodge Ram truck in the area of the incident Saturday night to call NFPD Detectives at (716) 286-4533.
