HAMBURG, NY (WKBW-TV) — It's obvious Geraldo Perez has a special gift. A wonderful singing voice. This time of year he is sharing it as a Salvation Army bell ringer at Tops on South Park in Hamburg.
Besides ringing the bell, Geraldo provides more than a little entertainment by singing holiday tunes in a loud clear voice, which isn't the easiest thing to do this year wearing a mask.
Store operation manager Rich Zaciewski says "I feel people come in to actually see him. They know he's here for sure and every year it's a fantastic experience we have in our store."
Geraldo puts his heart and soul into this annual gig. He takes bell ringing to another level. He says he sang in the choir as a child in San Juan, Puerto Rico. His energy and dedication encourages shoppers to put money into the familiar bucket.
About his entertaing, attention grabbing bell ringing Geraldo says "I think this is a command from God to help other people in need."
