ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WKBW) — Santa Land, a popular holiday tradition in Western New York, returns to Chestnut Ridge Park this weekend. The free event runs from 11AM-3PM Saturday and Sunday.

If you get chilly, there are both indoor and outdoor activities for the whole family to enjoy like arts & crafts and face painting to get you in the holiday spirit. Those activities will take place in the Chestnut Ridge Park Casino.

The big outdoor attraction is the hay ride to see Santa Claus. The last ride leaves at 2:30 each day. Santa is a pretty popular guy, but Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz said there will be lots to do while you wait for him.

"Not only will there be singing, but there will be cocoa and cookies and lots of fun for the kids beyond just waiting in line for Santa Claus," said Poloncarz.

Santa has a wish of his own this year.

"Please don't forget the toys for the tots," Santa said.

Santa's hoping people coming to Santa Land can help him gather toys, so all the boys and girls across Western New York can receive a present for the holiday.

The fun will continue into the new year with Winterfest set for Sunday, January 19th from 11am-4pm.
