BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Gow School has sent a letter to its alumni and student families telling them about an investigation into a former teacher's alleged sexual misconduct involving a student.
The college preparatory school for students with dyslexia urged an victimized students to contact the investigating attorney in Buffalo. The allegation from a former student from the 1990s prompted an initial investigation which led to a vote expanding the investigation.
The letter says in February a former student who attended Gow more than 25 years ago called and detailed misconduct by a former teacher.
"We take this report seriously and we commend the former student for coming forward with difficult revelations," the letter says.
Gow is a college-prep boarding and day school for students in grades 6-12 with language-based learning disabilities. The school currently has about 150 students.
