BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Runners raced through the Old First Ward Saturday for the 2019 Shamrock Run.

4,500 runners took park in what marks the 41st year of the Shamrock Run, the money raised by the 8K race goes to support the Old First Ward Community Association.

Many consider the run the unofficial kickoff to St. Patrick's Day celebrations in Western New York.

This year's winner was Dylan Stevens from Erie, Pennsylvania who ran the 8K in 25 minutes and 39 seconds.
