A funeral characterized by love, remembrance and energy filled True Bethel Baptist Church in Buffalo Saturday. Three lives were claimed in a Shirley Avenue Fire just prior to Christmas, 26-year-old Briana Ross, 8-year-old G'Shawn McGee and 4-year-old Cianna Jones.
“You don’t know a mother’s pain until you’ve been in the front row of the church and had to look at your children on the way to the grave yard," preached Pastor Darius Pridgen. “Brianna is never going to have to pay another bill, Cianna is never going to know the pain and G’Shawn will never be a murder victim by homicide on nobody’s street I wish about 20 of you would holler back at me because that’s the real deal.”
Family members and friends took to the mic in front of a crowd of hundreds to express their fondest memories of their loved ones, through scripture, song and stories.
“I never personally met these children but I feel like they’re my kids. I think every viewer would feel like these are our children," Pridgen said. “This is more than just this family healing this is just the entire community healing.”
A GoFundMe page has been set up by the family's loved once to help with funeral expenses.
