AMHERST, N.Y. (WKBW) — Are you tired shoveling snow? Shivering in the cold? Frozen fingers? Today's national holiday should give you some encouragement to plan your next vacation.

It's National Plan for a Vacation day.

Last year around 705,000,000 vacation days weren't used by American workers, according to AAA. Also, they said the earlier you start planning the more likely you will actually book a trip. Plus, vacationing is good for you.

"Statistics show when you take a vacation, you get away from work, you come back refreshed. you perform better at your job," Brian Murray, Director of Travel for AAA, said.

Marge Wirtner was at the AAA office in Amherst celebrating. She booked a 51-day cruise through the South Pacific.

"I have an excursion scheduled in Bora Bora where you snorkel with sharks," she said.

A snow storm is coming to Buffalo. While you are sitting inside, take a look at some possible vacations you'd be interested in. If you start now, in a few months you could be sitting on the beach in the Bahamas.
