BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The biggest TV event of the year, the Super Bowl, is this weekend.
It's where the best players and commercials come to play.
This year a 30 second spot runs more than $5.5 million.
It's a hefty investment but advertisers are hoping all those eyeballs will make it worth it.
"I think that it is really special to have people zeroed in on this particular moment," said Jillian Gallagher, the associate creative director for the Martin Group.
"They are going to use humor they are going to take a really hard look and hopefully tout our best and worst attributes as Americans," said Zack Schneider, a partner at Fifteen.
Fifteen and the Martin Group advertising agencies in Buffalo shared what they think the best commercials of the Super Bowl will be.
What makes a great ad?
- Humor
- Heartfelt
- Heroic themes
- Gallagher is excited to see amazon's spot talking about life before Alexa.
"I know they have Ellen in the spot and her wife in the spot so I know that may be interesting," Gallagher said. "Or something that feels like a joke has a little more sticking power."
Schneider wants to see if newcomers like Facebook, Sabra, and Little Caesars will bring it.
You will see a few familiar faces, as local spots cost companies tens of thousands of dollars.
"Catholic Health, Kaleida, and Roswell Park will all have their spots in there and that's a really big time to get our messaging out there," Schneider said.
