SILVER SPRINGS, NY (WKBW-TV) — Darcie Ikeler almost had the old silo on her Silver Springs farm torn down. Instead she had it transformed into a work of art.

Darcie hired artist Dan Butler to paint sunflowers on the silo. Dan admits it was the biggest job he's ever done. He spent about twenty-seven hours painting. The highest point he had to reach was thirty feet up.

Much of the work Dan accomplished off the ground and up in the air in a cherry picker. Dan says "It's a little scary when you are all the way at the top and the wind knocks you".

Darcie is happy with the results and says "it's been great, everyday somebody comes by."

Dan says he's been getting new job offers and will be painting a barn in Niagara Falls this weekend.
