BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The third annual Snow Bowl flag football tournament to benefit the Special Olympics raised more than $60,000. The tournament sold out this year with 48 teams at New Era field.

Buffalo Bills Linebacker Lorenzo Alexander was there to cheer on the athletes.

"They are overcoming some obstacles in their lives and they don't let that determine how they are going to live," Alexander said.

Patrick has been participating in the Special Olympic programs for almost 20 years. He scored two touchdowns today for the Kiss my Pass team.

"I don't know what kids like him would do for fun if they didn't have Special Olympics here," Karen Jordan, Patrick's mom said.

Erica Raepple, Director of Development for Special Olympics New York says she hopes the Snow Ball will continue to grow every year. She says she hope to make this a multi-day event in the future.
