CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY N.Y. (WKBW) — A snow plow operated by the NYS Thruway Authority was hit by a tractor trailer on I-90 in Chautauqua County while performing snow and ice clean up, according to a tweet by officials.
New York State Police report the crash happened around 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday in the Town of Portland.
Investigators say a NYS Thruway Authority plow truck was in the right lane of the I-90, with emergency amber lights running, when it was hit by a tractor trailer. Both vehicles crashed through the guardrail and went into a ditch.
According to NYSP, the driver of the tractor trailer, 49-year-old Marvin Stacy, of Ohio, was seriously injured and air lifted to a hospital in Pennsylvania. Police say he is currently in stable condition. Stacy was also issued multiple vehicle and traffic violations.

The driver and the passenger of the plow were taken to Westfield Memorial Hospital for evaluation.
The crash remains under investigation.
