BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The U.S. Attorney's Office says two Buffalo men have been arrested for allegedly shipping cocaine and fentanyl inside a box that contained toys, coloring books, paper plates, napkins, and a Nickelodeon slime box.
Authorities say 32-year-old Juan Padua and 24-year-old Michael Vasquez conspired to possess with the intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine.
According to the Attorney's Office, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service intercepted a package from Puerto Rico shipped to Padua's home.
Last week, investigators searched the box and found a large, white, brick-like substance that was comprised of a loosely packed white powder.
Field tests found traces of both cocaine and fentanyl.
If convicted, Padua and Vasquez face a minimum penalty of five years in prison, and a maximum of 40 years.
