GRAND ISLAND, N.Y. (WKBW) — Two firefighters are recovering from injuries after a fire in the Sandy Beach neighborhood on Grand Island early Tuesday morning.
Crews were dispatched to fight the fire at a home on 3325 Baseline Road around 1:30 a.m. As they battled the flames, one firefighter fell and another was treated for heat exhaustion. The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.

The Erie County Sheriff's Office determined the fire was caused by improperly stored cleaning supplies. It caused $160,000 in damages to the home, which was unoccupied.
