BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — A local woman is using her talents to help healthcare workers and she's asking for your help.

Marinette Kozlow runs Inspired Buffalo on Hertel Avenue; she says she wanted to make masks for people in hospitals, but her friend who is a respiratory therapist told her hospital staff couldn't use home made masks.

What they could use was scrub caps to cover their heads.

So Marinette started gathering materials and searching for patterns.

She also watched YouTube videos to figure out the best ways to make them.

She's planning to make as many as possible, because she wants healthcare workers to have more than just one.

"Each nurse really could use, depending on how many they work, really could use one for every day that they work," Kozlow said. "Because they're constantly coming home, worried about their families, strip everything off of them, they have to wash it and have it ready for the next day."

The first caps are headed to Suburban Hospital.

Marinette says anyone can help out with this; If you can't sew, you can cut fabric, donate, or help source material.

If you want to lend a hand you can connect with her, you can email her at mak@inspiredbuffalo.com, and you can also message her on the Inspired Buffalo Facebook page.
