LOCKPORT, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Niagara County Sheriff's Office confirmed late Thursday night, a young girl struck by a car on Rapids Road in Lockport, has succumbed to her injuries and died at Oishei Children's Hospital.
She is one of three girls, ages 10, 11 and 14, hit by a car while walking down Rapids Road Tuesday, November 10th.
They were all brought to Oishei Children's Hospital. The 14-year-old was released the next day.
The names of the victims are being withheld for the time being.
Niagara County Sheriff Michael Filicetti said the 40-year-old male driver is cooperating with police but is "distraught." He told deputies that he did not see the girls walking along the road.
No charges have been filed. The accident is still being investigated. Anyone with information or who witnessed the accident is asked to call 716-438-3393.
