Shelly Gordon lost her Basset Hound "Gunner" back in 1995. One day she saw an ad for a Basset Hound rescue group, decided to check it out and today she is president of the organization. The ABC Basset Hound Rescue group rescued over a 100 dogs from all over the country last year and found homes for them in New York State.
Shelly says after she adopted her first dog from the rescue group "I swore that for the rest of my life I would help Basset Hounds".
The organization raises funds for their efforts through a website calledTHESLOBBERSHOPPE.COM where you can find over 350 Basset Hound t-shirts, mugs and more.
Shelly points out that they could rescue even more dogs if they can find more local foster homes. For more information you can contact the organization at their website NYBASSET.ORG
