There will soon be a new sheriff in Chautauqua County.
In an upset, Jim Quattrone has defeated Joe Gerace in the race for sheriff. Quattrone, a retired lieutenant with the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, garnered about 3,000 more votes than Gerace.
Gerace has served as sheriff since 1995, and has been with the office full-time since 1979.
