A group of firefighters saved a dog trapped rocks on the shoreline of the Niagara River on Saturday.

Firefighters from the Frontier Volunteer Fire Company and Niagara County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a report of a dog shivering and trapped under large rocks and slabs of concrete near 2080 River Road.

Firefighters say they were directed to the dog's location by four girls who found it while walking along the shoreline.

The dog was safely rescued and reunited with its owner, according to firefighters.

The Niagara Falls Police Department's Animal Control Unit and the Sherlock Bones Lost 'N Hound Dog Recovery have been helping the owner reunite with Daniella, the dog, for several days.
