Louis Ciminelli facing "significant" health troubles while awaiting trial

Posted

Buffalo developer Louis Ciminelli is facing a "significant medical condition" as he awaits trial in the Buffalo Billion fraud case, according to court documents that were unsealed Friday.

The documents reveal Ciminelli's attorneys notified the judge in January that Ciminelli was diagnosed with a health condition requiring treatment.

The specific condition was not disclosed.

In a letter submitted into court record June 2nd, Ciminelli's attorney Daniel Oliverio advised the judge that Ciminelli would be notifying the employees of LPCiminelli of his treatment, and said the announcement would not be made public.

Ciminelli was charged last fall in a corruption case involving allegations of bid-rigging and bribery, for contracts included in the Buffalo Billion program.

He has pleaded not guilty.
