HAMBURG, N.Y. (WKBW) — The 180th Erie County Fair does not start for another week (August 7th) but excitement for the annual event is growing.
Several hundred people showed up at the historic Erie Railroad Depot in Hamburg to watch the arrival of the James E. Strates Shows Fair Train.
The event was also marked by the U.S. Postal Service which was on-site issuing a commemorative postmark for "Train Day 2019."
Crews immediately began unloading rides and taking them to the Hamburg Fairgrounds to be set up.
While the crews work over the next week, families should also put their fair plans together because there are special deals for admission and rides that only last until August 6th.
Advanced sale vouchers sold at all Tops Friendly Markets offer significant savings: $5 off adult admission, $4 off senior admission, and $5 off the cost of a weekday "ride all day" voucher.
In addition, there are special days when admission is discounted and the fair offers free grandstand concerts and events.
7 Eyewitness News Reporter Ed Reilly takes a quick overview of the ways to save in the attached video clip.
