National average for gas drops to $1.77 a gallon; down in Western New York

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Gas prices continue to drop across Western New York and nationwide.

Right now the average price for a gallon of gas is $1.77, a four-cent decrease from last week, while the average in Buffalo dropped to $2.23 and in Batavia down to $2.27.

Compared to this time last year, the average price for a gallon of gas nationally is down $1.12.

The statewide average for a gallon of gas is slightly lower than that of Western New York at $2.18.
