A former Town of Niagara resident is facing animal cruelty charges after police say he kicked a cat so hard that he broke its jaw and knocked out several of its teeth.
Police say 37-year-old Shane Hescox was seen repeatedly kicking a domestic short hair tortoiseshell named Misty.
According to police, Hescox was fighting with Misty's owner before he attacked the cat. Hescox was seen on a live feed surveillence camera kicking the cat.
The incident happened on April 15, 2015 outside of a home on Rhode Island Avenue in the Town of Niagara.
Misty is currently back with her owner and is being treated at Gerber Small Animal Hospital.
Hescox is facing felony animal cruelty charges.
