A former Town of Niagara resident is facing animal cruelty charges.
Witnesses tell Niagara Falls police Shane Hescox repeatedly kicked a domestic short hair tortoiseshell cat named Misty in the face after a dispute with the cat’s owner.
The incident occurred on Friday, April 15 outside of a Rhode Island address in the Town of Niagara.
Hescox was seen on a live feed camera kicking the cat. Misty suffered a broken jaw and several missing teeth. She remains in the owner’s care and is currently being treated at Gerber Small Animal Hospital.
He is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday night on felony animal cruelty charges.
