A Niagara Falls man could face up to 15 years in prison when he is sentenced for a high speed chase that left several people injured.

Last year, Asad Hixon fled from State Police on Niagara Street. The 22-year-old reached speeds of 70 MPH as he drove the wrong way around Niagara Square and sped past the Convention Center, ultimately colliding with two vehicles on Delaware Avenue in front of the Buffalo Club.

Hixon’s passenger, 18-year-old Dartanyon Robinson, was seriously injured and was in a medically induced coma for days after the crash. Four others in the two vehicles Hixon hit also suffered injuries.

Hixon pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicular assault and three counts of third degree assault. He has prior convictions of DWI and third degree attempted burglary and is currently serving a five-year sentence for second degree attempted criminal possession of a weapon.

When he is sentenced December 5, Hixon faces a sentence of up to 15 more years in state prison.
