Man threatens officer with carving knife

Posted

A City of Tonawanda man is locked up after police say he threatened a police officer with a carving knife.

Police say they responded to a domestic dispute Friday evening at a home on Gibson Street.  They say 48-year-old Christopher Mobilia was arguing with a woman there, then became upset with the police officers, and grabbed a carving knife off a kitchen counter.  Police say he "squared up and took an aggressive stance" against one officer, and that's when the officer drew his weapon and ordered Mobilia to drop the knife.

Eventually Mobilia put the knife down.  He was arrested and is charged with Menacing of a Police Officer and Criminal Possession of a Weapon.
