A Niagara Falls woman has been arrested for shoplifting, while leaving her four children in the car, according to police.
Officials say police were called after 27-year-old Shayonna Miller was seen by Home Depot security stealing smoke and carbon monoxide detectors around 4 p.m. Wednesday. Authorities say the woman admitted to stealing the detectors to support her drug habit.
Niagara Falls police say Miller's four children, ranging in age from three weeks-old to 10-years-old, were found alone in a vehicle in the parking lot. The children were turned over to a family member.
Miller is charged with four counts of endangering the welfare of a child and petit larceny. She is currently being held in Niagara Falls City Jail and is expected to be arraigned Thursday morning.
