The fire started at the abandoned paper mill around 7 p.m. Wednesday. It is currently being used as a tire recycling facility.
According to Hamburg's mayor, the Red Cross has 50 cots available at the Salvation Army, and can accommodate 100 people. Anyone needing to evacuate should bring a small bag of personal belongings, and should plan on the evacuation lasting well into Thursday -- possibly later.
At the fire's peak, at least 26 fire companies were assisting Lockport Fire with the five-alarm blaze.
As of late Wednesday night, no injuries have been reported with this blaze.
