National Grid is looking to revamp its old power station in West Seneca in an effort to enhance service in western New York.
On Wednesday, officials broke ground on a new $120 million dollar project.
National Grid says the new transmission station is being built to meet growing customer needs, including new businesses like SolarCity.
The company says it's key focus is reliability and the impact on customer's bills.
National Grid says the new station will be able to provide power to the region for the next 80 years.
