WKBW — Monroe County Public Health Commissioner Dr. Michael Mendoza announced eight new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Sunday night. The announcement brings the total number of confirmed cases in Monroe County to 10.

Contact tracing has led four of the new cases to the Greece Arcadia Middle School worker who has already been a confirmed case. Mendoza has recommended all faculty, staff, and families in the Greece school district to stay extra diligent.

Furthermore, another case has children enrolled at The Unique Child Day Care Center on Meigs Street in Rochester. A third has ties to The Friendly Home on East Avenue.

In addition, one City of Rochester firefighter that responded to an EMS call for one of new confirmed cases was potentially exposed to coronavirus, and as a precaution is self-quarantining.
