A top-ranking member of the Navy is visiting her hometown, Buffalo this week.
Rear Admiral Danelle Barrett is getting a whirlwind tour of the Queen City, as part of the Navy's greater community outreach program.
Rear Adm. Barrett is the Navy Cyber Security Division director. Her service has taken her to Iraq, Afghanistan and Haiti. But her roots extend back to Frontier Central High School, where she graduated from. Her mother still lives in Hamburg.
On Tuesday, Rear Adm. Barrett toured the Buffalo and Erie County Naval & Military Park and the USS Little Rock, where she swore in new sailors.
On Wednesday, she will be speaking about her experiences at the Twentieth Century Club in Buffalo.
