A Little Valley woman faces multiple charges after an incident with a deputy from the Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Office.

Ashley Mazurzyk, 34, was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, failure to keep right, and using an electronic device after almost striking a patrolman head-on on Route 353 near Broadway Road.

She was stopped when she tried to evade patrol by turning onto Maple Hill Road, according to the Sheriffs Office. Mazurzyk told the officer she was using her phone and was scared.

It was revealed she had a suspended license for being a continuous violator, following an investigation.

She's due back in the Town of Persia Court at a later date.
