The soft opening was Aug. 30, but Thursday, the ribbon cutting made it official: Chautauqua Hotel is open for business on Chautauqua Lake.
The masterpiece sits along nearly 1200 feet of lake frontage, featuring an both indoor and outdoor bars and pools, a fitness center, ballroom and even a putting green. It's the fourth Harbor Hotel of it's kind and third in New York, other locations include Portland Maine, Clayton New York, and Watkins Glen New York.
“It’s probably going to be the most unique and spectacular waterfront property in Western New York," Chautauqua County Executive, George Borrello, said. “So it’s really transforming the Village of Celoron as well as the whole region as far as having a world class resort located here.”
The $40 million project became the largest hospitality investment in Chautauqua County history.
“These are economic engines, they’re big job creators, they create lots of transactional tax activity, raised the assessed property value, not only of our property but the other properties around it," President and CEO of Hart Hotels, David Hart, said. “It’s easily identifiable, easy to get to. Buffalo’s only an hour away, obviously Jamestown is only 10 minutes away, Erie, Cleveland, Pittsburgh are what we consider to be all feeder markets are all easy driving distances to our location.”
The Chautauqua Harbor Hotel is still hiring, for information click here.
