The Genesee County Sheriff's Office says people have gotten the call in Genesee County. There's no word on where the scam calls are coming from, or where the scam itself originates, but police say it's likely taking place across a number of states.
Residents are being reminded not to provide personal or medical information over the phones, and to contact their local doctor or pharmacy if they think someone may have used their information.
