New York's unemployment rate falls to 30-year low

Posted

The unemployment rate in New York State fell to 4.1 percent in September, the lowest it has been in 30 years.

The drop is due in part to another monthly decline in New York City, where the jobless rate fell from 4.1 to 4.0 percent - the lowest on record.

According to the state labor department, the Buffalo-Niagara region added 6,800 private sector jobs from September 2017 to September 2018.
