Following the explosion that injured 29 people in New York City and the discovery of other explosive devices in New Jersey, the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority (NFTA) is stepping up security at both airports, the bus station and metro transit stations.
Officials say there is no credible threat to this area and the extra security is a precaution.
However, NFTA Executive Director Kimberley Minkel says people will see a higher level of police presence along with dogs at NFTA locations.
You can also expect to see more car checks at the airports.
Both Minkel and Congressman Brian Higgins commented on the situation. You can watch the video to hear what they had to say.
