Millions of visitors from around the world come to Niagara Falls every year. While viewing the famous falls is free, it can get costly for a family trying to do the multiple paid attractions. However, Niagara Falls State Park is trying to help by offering discounts with the "Niagara USA Discovery Pass."
The pass costs $46/adult and $35/children age 6-12. Kids 5 and under are free.
For one price, the Discovery Pass will allow a person to ride the Maid of the Mist, walk the Cave of the Winds, watch a giant screen movie in the Niagara Adventure Theater, visit both the Aquarium of Niagara and the Niagara Gorge Discovery Center.
The pass also includes 1-day of transportation on the Niagara Scenic Trolley which moves people from the Prospect Point viewing area to Goat Island and to the Aquarium/Gorge Discovery Center.
In addition, the Discovery Pass provides discount admission to Fort Niagara and free gifts at the Niagara Power Authority Power Vista and Artpark NYS Park. A free ticket to a Niagara Power baseball home game is also part of the package (the season will be ending soon).
Compared to buying individual tickets for attractions, the Discovery Pass saves up to 35%.
New York State Parks, Recreation & Historic Preservation is promoting the pass for visitors and WNY-ers so families can partake in unique family-friendly experiences.
Even though it is in our backyard, Angela Berti, spokesperson for NYS Parks, said there are many local residents who are not taking advantage of Niagara Falls State Park and its attractions.
"I can't tell you how many people have said "I haven't tried the Cave of the Winds or the Maid of the Mist or been to the park in ages," said Berti.
