The New York Civil Liberties Union has filed a lawsuit against the Buffalo Police Department for refusing to comply with a Freedom of Information Law request.
The NYCLU is seeking information on a variety of policing tactics used by the BPD, including use of force, surveillance technologies, and the enforcement of non-criminal offenses.
The BPD is refuting allegations from the NYCLU.
The BPD tells 7 Eyewitness News "Buffalo Police did respond to the request, and did provide information. Due to pending litigation the Department can't comment further at this time."
