New York is launching a first-of-its-kind food certification program that's designed to promote upstate agriculture and increase access to farm-fresh food.
On Thursday, Governor Andrew Cuomo announced a new $20 million state-of-the-art regional food hub in Hunts Point that will create 245 jobs and and distribute New York State grown and certified products.
The program identifies and promotes New York producers who stick to New York's food safety and environmental sustainability programs, and assures consumers that the food they are buying is local and produced at a higher-standard.
