A Charlotte police officer seen in a heartwarming viral video has ties to Western New York.
The video shows activist Ken Nwadike hugging Officer Christopher Frunzi during violent protests in Charlotte, NC.
Frunzi grew up in South Buffalo and Hamburg, graduating from Saint Francis High School in Athol Springs, NY.
Nwadike has been traveling across the country handing out hugs as part of his Free Hugs Project.
So far, the video has been viewed more than 10 million times.
