Former Buffalo police officer, John Cirulli, who was caught on camera beating a hand-cuffed suspect on the ground back in April is scheduled to be sentenced Monday.
Cirulli's attorney, Rod Personius tells 7 Eyewitness News that his client is asking the judge to spare him jail time.
Cirulli pleaded guilty to two counts of deprivation of rights under color of law. He faces up to two years in prison and a fine of $200,000.
Cirulli confessed to beating drug suspect John Willet after an intense foot chase.
The incident was caught on tape by someone in the neighborhood.
Willet is suing the city, the police department, Cirulli and the other officers involved.
