One person is being helped by the Buffalo Red Cross after an overnight fire in the city's Block Rock neighborhood.
Fire started on Germain Street about 11:30 p.m. Sunday. That's right near Wegmans on Amherst Street.
Firefighters say this was a building with a number of apartments inside.
Some people were initially forced out of the building but were eventually let back inside. Firefighters credit a quick response.
"That's what we do. We get here as quick as possible and stop it as quick as possible. Our guys did a great job tonight," said Buffalo Fire Department Battalion Chief John Murphy.
Crews say the fire started near a hot water heater and caused about $35,000 in damage. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
