The tallest building in Buffalo finally has a new owner.

Doug Jemal, President and Founder of Douglas Development confirms with 7 Eyewitness News Anchor Jeff Russo that the deal to purchase One Seneca Tower closed on Thursday afternoon.

Financial details were not disclosed. Jemal says he expects to see work begin to redevelop the 38-story building in the next six months.

The next step is to work with engineers on the design, and to file for the proper permits.

Jemal envisions redeveloping the building into a mixed-use project or residential, office, hotel and retail space.

The tower has sat mostly vacant since its largest tenant, HSBC Bank, moved out several years ago.
