Congratulations are in order for Orchard Park High School.
The home of the Quakers has been named a 2016 National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education.
The honor puts Orchard Park in elite company. It is one of only 279 public schools and 50 private schools across the nation to receive this distinction.
The Blue Ribbon award is based on a school's academic excellence or progress shown by students in closing achievement gaps.
Past recipients in the Orchard Park district include Eggert Elementary, in 2007, and South Davis Elementary in 2013.
